My journey into outdoor lighting began unexpectedly during a summer job between my freshman and sophomore years at Harvard. Although the company primarily focused on irrigation, I found myself drawn to the occasional outdoor lighting installations they undertook. What fascinated me most was the delicate balance between artistic design and technical proficiency required to craft a cohesive lighting system. Witnessing the transformation of spaces at night, illuminated by our work, only deepened my fascination.

Throughout my college years, I remained with the company, gradually shifting my focus towards outdoor lighting. Even during a brief stint in consulting post-graduation, I continued installing outdoor lighting systems, and soon thereafter my summer job became my full-time career. It became clear to me that mastering outdoor lighting required dedication and hands-on experience; there were no shortcuts. I vividly remember the early days, painstakingly adjusting lights after nighttime walk-throughs, learning from every mistake and refinement.

As the landscape lighting demand grew in the area, I came to appreciate the value (and need) of specialization in this field, realizing that a dedicated focus on outdoor lighting yielded the best results for clients—and Boston Outdoor Lighting was born. This wasn't just about installing landscape lights as part of a broader service offering; it was about creating high-end, custom lighting systems tailored to each client's unique needs.

Now, a decade into this journey, I still approach each installation and design project with a hunger for learning. Every new project presents an opportunity to refine skills and push the boundaries of creativity.
